The Panama Canal- Lock Gates Being Installed
| December 20, 2014 - The new "gates" for the Panama Canal expansion are being installed as seen in the video above. Acting like sliding pocket doors, eight new gates for the Atlantic side are being installed now and the first will be operational in January, 2015. The eight new gates for Pacific Ocean side of the project have been delivered and will be installed next.

The Suez Canal Expansion
 December 20, 2014 - Egypt has begun their expansion and infrastructure development of the Suez Canal. Egypt is looking forward to seeing new seaport hubs and industrial zones contribute substantial sums to their economy. The parallel canal being built will allow "two-way" ship traffic for the canals, speeding transit time. |
Proposed Route of the Nicaraguan Canal

December 20, 2014 - Nicaragau with its Chinese investors is set to have a ribbon cutting ceremony at the Pacific entrance of the proposed canal to kick off the canal project. There still has been no reports for planning, environmental impact or anything else for the canal and massive infrastructure announced earlier this year.
Demonstrations have broken out in the capital Managua and along the proposed route in defiance of the government plans. Chinese surveyors and evaluators have been in Nicaragua on the canal route backed up by Nicaraguan police and military inflaming the local population. W.R.
